Finally took a day to go scope out some Autumn leaves and paint out with friends. We decided to meet at Klondike Park in Defiance Missouri. Klondike is known for it’s beautiful bluffs & white sand deposits. Autumn is late this year, as it is November 10th and the leaves are finally reaching their peek color. We were greeted with the warm sun in the morning but beautiful clouds as a cool front was moving in. The trees along the bluff seemed to be speaking and begging us to paint them. It is one of the most colorful falls Missouri has had in years..and I felt very grateful the trees & leaves waited as I am a committee member of the Gasconade Fall Plein Air Event….and we are extremely busy every day in October preparing & eliciting the 5 day event. I really enjoyed capturing all the variations of color the leaves had and will be sad to see them go. Manuela Woolsey is a Missouri Artist who resides and works in Leslie Missouri. As early as she can remember Manuela had a desire to create. Her mother was from Germany and her father was a musician so this made for a creative childhood. She spent most of her time with her sister that was one year older and they loved playing in the nearby creek and farm lands. After graduating High school in 1985 her parents encouraged her to obtain a more realistic career rather than pursing her dream of being an artist.
